    RIP Tim Conway

Tim Conway, Star of The Carol Burnett Show, Dies at 85

Tim Conway has died at the age of 85.

He passed away at 8:45 a.m. in the Los Angeles area on Tuesday, his rep Howard Bragman confirms to PEOPLE.

Prior to his death, he suffered complications from Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) and had no signs of dementia or Alzheimer’s.
In his honor, I'll post what I think is the funniest thing I've ever seen:
Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. -- Carl Sagan (Pale Blue Dot)

I totally agree with you. I still laugh at that every time I see it. IIRC, Carol Burnett said most of that was done off the cuff by Conway. They had no idea what he would come up with sometimes and he would just kill them. I always liked Conway. He just had sense of comedic timing and was just plain silly in most of his comedy. At times we just need that type of comedy even though it may make no sense at all. RIP Tim Conway. Thanks for all the laughs.

She says: "You sure that little ---hole is through?" I think they had to pick Dick Van Dyke up in pieces he got destroyed so hard there.

They always did two takes of every scene that Tim Conway was in. The first one was played straight, according to the script (and was still funny). Tim wasn't allowed to adlib until Take 2, because they knew he would destroy the cast and crew.

Can't say enough about this guy and his comedic presence. IMO, he was in the upper echelon of comedians, a rare class that possessed the quit whit and improvisation that was simply a natural born gift, in the likes of a Jonathon Winters, Robin Williams, and others.

Harvey Korman will never be able to keep a straight face throughout eternity.

Those are rare comedians who call make you laugh and still keep it clean. I can't think of many like that today. Maybe Jerry Seinfeld
