Just a thought I had. I haven't watched much bb since the 3 pt shot came into being.

Dayton now projected as a 1 seed!

I honestly can’t believe this is going on. It’s like a dream.

Indiana is a mecca for HS basketball talent. UK has a Indiana kid, Louisville has a Indiana kid, Xavier has a Indiana kid, etc. College coaches flood to this state to get the kids. The people in this state breath basketball just as the people in Texas breath football.

They deserve to be a #1 seed unless they fall in the A-10 tournament.

One of (if not the) best sports movies in history is literally about how important Indiana high school basketball is to the people of Indiana.

Latest from Joey Brackets has Dayton as a 1 in the East with Kentucky as the 2.

Whatever bracket Dayton is in, my gut feel is in the committees eyes they will be the next Wichita State and get a death bracket.

How could it have been figuratively about how important Indiana high school basketball is to the people of Indiana?

I would reply to you, literally, that if you haven't lived in the state of Indiana or attended a Indiana HS basketball game then you can't comprehend the movie "Hoosiers."

The people in the state can breathe basketball until they are purple, but that will not change the fact that Indiana is no longer producing a similar level of talent as states like Georgia, Florida and Texas. They definitely are not near the real mecca of high school basketball talent which is Southern California. Kansas and North Carolina are also states that have a reputation for being all about high school basketball, but like Indiana they do not produce a similar level of elite talent as several other states. I just looked at the National High School team rankings, and there is not a single school in Indiana listed in the Top 40 currently.....SoCal has 12 in the Top 25. Things have changed since New York was the mecca of high school basketball, and most of the talent seemed to come from the Northeast and Midwest. Today the Southeast, Texas and California are the most fertile recruiting grounds for high school basketball talent.
