There would be no reason for recruits to go there, and no elite Coach would ever have a reason to go there. It's an accurate statement. Few is one of the Top-10 Coaches over the last 20 years in College Basketball. He's done more with less than any other Basketball Coach in NCAA history.

Small schools that lose great coaches can't compete logistically with average coaches.
Mark Few is essentially continuing the work Dan Monson started.

Just depends on who took his place.

A lot of people forget about Monson.

I think it is a matter of time before Gonzaga jumps to a bigger conference...kind of following in the Butler example.

Gonzaga would have already made that jump if the jump was possible. Jus not geographically feasible. They would fit perfectly in the Big East if they were just a bit more....east.

Also, Few has a top assistant who is responsible for all the international recruiting and is his heir apparent. If he can coach, they'll be fine for another stretch, because he can get the talent.

Yeah, I read an article on him. The Zags will be fine when Few steps down.

I can't see Gonzaga moving the needle for the Pac-12 the way ND does for the ACC. But we shall see!

True, but IU still has a big advantage over West Virginia and that be in-state talent. The state of Indiana produces a lot of it. Something that Knight feasted on in his tenure here. Archie has been reeling them in.

I look at it this way, Notre Dame moved the needle in the ACC because of the Irish's commitment to play 5(?) football games against ACC foes. The PAC-12 needs their needle moved in the area of basketball. They already play an unbalanced regular season schedule. Makes sense to me.

    I was being extremely sarcastic

As a lifetime UD fan: if they get a 1 or 2 seed and play in Cleveland because of the Coronavirus they ban people from attending the games I legit may lose my mind.

Exactly. That fact makes every win that W Va gains that much more impressive. They've had to work harder for it than IU has
