I think overall the league has caught up with some of the Reds’ hitters. How they are being pitched, how they are being defended.

That’s the problem IMO plus the absence of Scooter who was one of their two best bats last year.

I don’t blame the hitting coach; but I will blame him if the guys don’t re-adjust soon and come out of it.

That assumes the players are buying into his thoughts though.

Anymore I have to wonder if the modern player does.

Nope. I think Votto, Puig, Peraza, and Winker are all well below their expected production. But your zero sense of urgency comment is false.

Call it what you want but when proven hitters go up there with the same approach, failing time after time, and make no adjustments into late May. That’s a lack of urgency.
