All it took was me dropping him from my fantasy team. At least the last place team picked him up.

Attended 1976 World Series in my Mother's Womb. Attended 1990 World Series Game 2 as a 13 year old. Want to take my son to a a World Series Game in Cincinnati in my lifetime.
You can say all you like about his slow starts, but he definitely more than makes up for it once he zeros in. Not many guys can go on a 2-3 month tear of hitting over .400 before cooling off a tad.. Heck, he might still be doing this at 40 and beyond. We just don't know.. It's not Joey Votto's fault the Reds have ended up in last place the past few years. A terrible pitching staff and poor management and coaching has a lot to do with that over the years. I'll take a .400 singles hitter anyday of any season over a .200 homerun hitter who strikes out way more than anyone on the team.

Lots and lots of Joey Votto numbers and future expectations from FanGraphs. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/whats-up-with-joey-votto/
If anyone had any doubts that Joey Votto uses the whole field, just check out his career home run log:
