I don't care about that. If they can't get along, then Puig's gotta go. I'd bet Puig would have his back more than anyone if they were on the same team. I think they were Dodgers/Giants enemies. Once on the same team, they'd both be guys I'd want in my foxhole.

    Huh?

Reds are #3 in starter WAR in all of baseball.

If you prefer less analytic numbers, they're #5 in ERA and K/9.

    There's been no fall.

The Reds just need to get some help from their hitting and they’ll pass those teams.

I agree about the Cardinals. They also have defensive issues.

But I don’t see much difference between the Cubs and Brewers pitching overall. Cubs have better starters, but they have no one in the league of Hader.

Disco 4.6 ERA after years of being bad or hurt. He gives up HR like candy and the weather is just now heating up. Gray with a 4.3 ERA after a horrible season last year. Roark is a long established back-end starter, which is fine and needed. Mahle has looked good, but is a second year guy and still a question mark. To take the team seriously, they need another frontline starter. The guys who were question marks coming in are still questions IMO. I want somebody bankable.

Marcus Stroman is putting up better numbers than Mad Bum and comes with an extra year of control. I might do that package minus India for him.

I’d rather have Stroman too. Not sure who he’d replace in the rotation though because Mahle has been maybe our second best starter. Unless they traded Roark in a subsequent deal or something.

The Cubs ERA is close to a run better.

Harder has been ridden pretty hard already and giving up lots of HR’s.

Brewers pitching will start to fade, if it hasn’t already.

Disco is the easy answer. He has an era OF 4.60, gives up way too many HR and it's only going to get worse as the temperatures and humidity rise through the summer. He has only one year left after this anyway and isn't part of the long term plan. Send him to a place where it's hard to hit HR and he can be OK.

My biggest fear is that when the bats get hot, and they will, that the pitching will go south.........

When it comes to the game of baseball, I have no fears. So I guess that either makes me fearless ... or numb.

DeSclafani ranks 88th in ERA of the 130 pitchers with the most innings pitched.

Gray's FIP indicates he's pitched far better than his ERA. Still, he ranks 75th.

If those are your two worst SP, your staff is probably really, really good. And, hey, look at that!

    It is.

Also forgot about Wood coming back, which should bump one of Roark or Disco by default. Really don’t think they need a pitcher if they’re gonna trade for anyone. Maybe Stroman if they could sign him to an extension or at the very least have him for next year.

Why you play all 162. Because baseball is weird, and the season is long.

Roark has been better, but his long established profile is also as a back-end starter. I think the Reds should make a push for Madison Bumgarner and Will Smith from the Giants. A late inning arm and a frontline starter make this team legit. Scooter's return along with Puig and Votto finding their strokes should be enough on the offensive side where Senzlel and Suarez are studs and Winker and Dietrich are solid producers.

I'd be in favor of a deal like that if they could extend Bumgarner for 3-4 years. It'd soften the Santillan loss more if they draft Lodolo.
I kinda hate giving Tony up, though, otherwise.
The SP in the farm stinks.
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.
