This Day in History - May 21

May 21, 1952. Joe Nuxhall returns to the Reds seven years after making his debut as a 15 year-old.

Nuxhall gave up one hit in the last three innings of the game. Reds got hammered, losing 19-1 to the Brooklyn Dodgers.

In 1975 the Reds blow out Tom Seaver and the Mets 11-4. Perez hits a home run and drives in four runs. Concepcion and Doug Flynn also homered. Jack Billingham pick up the win. Many consider this game the turning point of the season for the 75 team.

The 76 Reds lost to the Padres 4-2. An old Red killer,Randy Jones, pitched a complete game for the win.

The 1990 Reds beat the Cubs 4-3. Rijo bested Greg Maddox in this one. All three of the Nasty Boys made an appearance in this game.
