    122 plate appearances.
It’s not “oh wow” but that’s his MLB career against lefties. I’d use a larger sample, but that’s it at the big league level. 122 PAs and .549 OPS. Reds also have his minor league numbers, they see him in practice, they made their decision. Winker plays sparingly against lefties.

I’d guess if it was .849 in 122 PAs he’d be playing more against lefties.

That's a nice black hole after the first 4 guys.

Really, after the first three. It’s pretty jarring to see Ervin - whose been at AAA mostly - hitting cleanup.

But some of them have done ok in the early going. Farmer seems to homer every time I watch him. Derek Johnson should have the “book” on Gio who pitched for him some of last season. Looking for a victory.

Yelich has been scratched from the lineup due to back spasms.

Am I a bad human being to be happy about that?

    Farmer 2B
    Casali C

Honestly though it is a tough one to group those guys and I can see the argument for so many options.
Flip-flop Ervin and Casali, and that is exactly the lineup I would have gone with.

absolutely not. It's only back spasms and he's getting professional treatment for them.

That's at least one less run that the Brewers will score tonight.

Really want to see a good start out of Sonny tonight. Both him and the team need it.

I'm just glad there's Reds baseball tonight.

    Don't like those off days.

Our $250 million dollar 1st basemen is OPSing in the .600s. But hey, let's get upset over a batting lineup.

Only change I would make is Farmer at 1b and Dietrich or Van Meter at 2b. You're forced to start a lefty somewhere because of our roster, but Dietrich has proven to be better in a very small sample size that Winker or Votto who have been terrible.

    1. unless you're on the team, he's not your 250 million dollar 1st basemen

pretty big blunder by the Reds to pay Votto $250 million this year
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Brewers beat writers seem to think it's a given that he'll be out tomorrow, as well
