I would explore trading Roark to the Yankees

The Yankees are supposedly looking for starters because of all their injuries. Roark would probably be a good fit for them as they don't need long term solutions, just for this year. Now, frankly, I'd talk to Roark about extending him for a year at roughly the same salary and if he was amenable, I'd keep him.

But if he's looking for a longer term deal, then I'd talk to Yankees.

That puts us in a vulnerable position for a while, needing to depend on Sims (and days off), until the hopeful return of Wood, but given the low odds of a playoff spot at this time, I think it's a acceptable risk, IF we can get some worthwhile talent from Yankees.

I would try to do a deal around one of their Ofers like Clint Frazier.

I think if he's not open to a 3year deal with us then I'm looking to move him now.

Yankees trade: #16 Garrett Whitlock RHP (AA) and #23 Ryder Green OF (Rookie) are a couple of guys that would be in the area of a good swap.

That’s better than what we got back for Chapman.

Or we can trade them back Sonny Gray for Shed Long and a draft pick.

(Sorry, I just wanted to show how good of a trade that was by revealing the ridiculousness of that suggestion)

Trade him for Clint Frazier, who is on his way out of NYC as soon as possible

I would go for that in a heartbeat. Because the Reds definitely need 2 corner outfielders

Why is he on his way out? He’s having a really good season

If they trade FRazier, they are getting better than Roark. Somebody like Bauer or Bumgarner probably or maybe a longer term cheap guy like Boyd.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

He is not going to play the outfield over Judge or Stanton, clearly, and Hicks just was signed to a long term deal. Now that they they have Encarnacion (along with Voit at first), there is no room for Judge or Stanton to DH, either. He is a good prospect having a lot of MLB success, but there is no room for him in NYC. And his handling of the media there is not helping his cause either. He will be traded for a pitcher sometime this summer for sure. Not sure Roark is the caliber the Yankees will want in return though.

In that case, I’d give up Roark and maybe Hernandez. I’ve wanted Frazier since he was in the Cleveland org

He's hitting well but imagine how this went over with Yankees fans (he also subsequently did not talk to the media so every outlet was hammering him as an entitled punk)

    and this one:
