Well, Latos was pre-arb with 4 years of control remaining. That's why he cost so much talentwise. The Reds need to target a similar talent with maybe a different contract situation. They have a ton of money coming off the books and can take on a contract. Greinke still makes sense to me but I doubt he's available, but as the season wears on, some names will become available. Money seems to be what the Reds have available though. They have about $60 Million coming off the books after the season.

Well he was our Game 1 starter in the 2010 playoffs and he's still in the league today at age 35. I agree with you that I didn't mind losing him as much as the other 3.
It was an awfully high price to pay as all 4 of those guys went on to have long MLB careers. The blueprint for a team like the Reds has to be one that is receiving 4 talents like that, not trading them.
