That was a special goal. Wow.

The score stands, and USA wins the Group.

Solid win, although it probably would have been better to lose. Hope Morgan and Ertz are good for the knockouts.

Her passing ability bought her the space to squeeze that shot high and near. The defender and the keeper were guarding against the ball across the box. Heath incepted them.

Sorry I can't make it tonight. Gotta watch the WNBA Finals.

    ...said no one ever.

It's not so much that the US Women's soccer team is good (they are. Really good.)

It's that the US Men's soccer team really, really, really, sucks. And in 2019, there is no excuse for that. Right now? The women's team should be paid much higher than the men's team. But only because I don't think the men's team deserves a paycheck at all.

That being said, the future looks very bright for both. I have high hopes. But yeah, right now? It's a travesty that the men are being paid more.

Not watching but following online but Spain seems to be fouling a lot. Is that some kind of strategy on their part to slow down the USWNT?

I watched most of the first half. Yes. And it’s working.

Pretty unlucky to not be winning, but the passes out of midfield have been sloppy. It’s fine to try some creative stuff now and then, it they are just spraying stuff.

Pretty common tactics when you're on the wrong side of the skills gap.

Yeah the ref is letting a lot go. It’s a very physical game.

They're in France and the ref is from Hungary, so I'm guessing no.

And here comes a penalty for the U.S. (or maybe not, time for VAR).
