They did review it. I suspect because the flag was up, it wasn't conclusive enough to overturn. Had the flag stayed down, they might have kept it for the same reason. Dunn looked even to me.

Yeah there’s no way she saw her offside since she was level, so why put that flag up? These refs have to learn to let VAR bail them out. Unless it’s obvious, don’t call it.

Germany falls to Sweden, and also fails to qualify for the Olympics:

"Two-time champions Germany suffered a shock Women's World Cup quarter-final exit as Sweden came from behind to beat them 2-1 in Rennes.

Germany had gone ahead through Lina Magull's acrobatic finish but Sweden responded when Sofia Jakobsson ran clear on goal and coolly finished.

Stina Blackstenius poked in from close range early in the second half and they managed to hold on to their lead.

Sweden's semi-final opponents are the Netherlands, who defeated Italy 2-0.

Sweden and the Netherlands - along with Great Britain, after England reached the last-four - have qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo as the top three European teams at the World Cup"

I'm so bummed Fox didn't broadcast their crew in France after the game so we could watch Ariane Hingst swallow an entire crow live on the air.

Just because you might get the ball first, doesn't guarantee it isn't a foul either.

Referee in a great position on both. The 2nd one is a pk 99 times out of 100 if you have any sort of decent official (the only time it isn't is if the ball ends up in the back of the net). Foot was up, got her with the studs, she was late, that's a player safety call every time.

Rapinoe and Mewis not starting. Press and Horan in. I get the tactical argument for Press, but this seems like maybe overthinking it a wee bit.

Maybe the coach is channeling David Bell.

Could be giving Rapinoe a break before the final. I understand it's hot AF there. Perhaps she's the first sub who comes on and gives the team some fresh energy if needed. She comes out all fresh and rested and the English women have been playing in the heat all afternoon.

Take that, you imperialist oppressors with gnarly teeth.

More offense in this half than by the Reds in a 3 game series.
