    Nick Hanson

A couple of years ago the Reds drafted him as a highly-regarded UK HS pitching signee. He needed surgery though and all I can find are 8 appearances in 2016 and just 3 last year. Does anyone know if he's still working toward a comeback or is he's toast?

He's out in Phoenix, should start for the AZL club when they open in a couple of weeks.

Is Travieso in Phoenix as well? His wife posted a video of him pitching back in May. Sounds like he's going to log some innings this year.

Edit: Just checked. He is not. Wonder where he is then. Aha...Billings.

Arise and walk, come through. A world beyond that door is calling out for you. Arise and walk, come through. It's calling out for you.

No sign of Hanson since the 4.0 IP in 2018. Not on the Instructional League roster after the cancelled pandemic season, which makes you wonder if he was ever able to get right physically. Twitter account still suggests he's a part of the organization.

In order to sign as a 3rd-round pitcher, the Reds ask each player to miss at least one season due to injury. The only exception is Jacob Heatherly, who has had shoulder problems of his own. However he may be exempt due to the 2020 situation.

    edit:
I discovered that Donnie Joseph, drafted in 2009, was not required to miss a season due to injury. Apparently this rule wasn't put into place until 2010. Word is yet to get out whether a different system has been put into place for 2020 and beyond.

He was injured again in 2019. I can't recall what the injury was off of the top of my head, but I feel like I recall that he wasn't yet throwing off of the mound near the end of the "season" that he didn't participate in.

I think you missed the sarcasm font.

    Donnie Joseph. There’s a name.

Somewhere he and Zach Weiss are having a beer and wondering how their grips on “future Reds’ closer” got derailed.

A trade and an injury. Next question!
