How sad is it that the Reds have two first round picks on their rookie ball teams (Two Nicks) and the one from this year probably won't be assigned to one of the teams?

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

I'm excited to see what Rylan Thomas does this year.
I'd love to see him mash and get some quick promotions.
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

Seems really strange to have Rylan Thomas repeat Greeneville. As a college kid (granted, a redshirt sophomore) who put up an .892 OPS, you'd think they'd look to move him along in the system. As purportedly the lowest rung of the Reds U.S. farm system, I'm surprised we see any college kids there, much less get a second go-round.

Judging by the 2019 Billings roster though, perhaps I'm off on the hierarchy of minor league teams.

We'll see but I kind of feel like something is up with that, like he isn't going to be there but his name just hasn't been taken off from last year's roster. Repeating would indeed be very odd if that is the case.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Thomas has been hurt and is not ready to go. I would not think Greeneville would be the destination when he is healthy. That is a paper assignment or just not moved off the 2018 roster. He is officially on the Dayton injured list.
