    Minor League Games of 6/21/2019

We've got a full docket today. Our beloved DSL Reds have already played and won 7-5, and every other farm team is scheduled to play this evening.

Brad Markey (without his security blanket/fellow arsonist Tristan Archer who went on the DL) starts for Louisville.

    James Marinan goes for Dayton.

Miguel Medrano, coming off 5 shutout innings in his season debut, goes for Billings.

Starters for Chattanooga, Daytona, Greeneville, and the AZL Reds are TBD!
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Lodolo not pitching tonight again for Billings? Shouldn't we be expecting more than that from a first rounder?

DSL guys who played well today:

OF Junior Tamares, 17, who had two hits and raised his BA to .316 and his OPS to .787.

C Daniel Vellojin, 19, continues to mash. He hit his second HR of the season and now has a .340/ .456/ .511/ .967 line in 47 ABs.

2B/ 3B Jose Acosta, 19, has smashed the ball all season as well. His line is even better than Vellojin's-- .471/ .558/ .676/ 1.235. More BBs than Ks and 8 SB to boot.

After just 5 hitters, Louisville (and BM) trail by 4 runs, although it was mostly, kinda not his fault. The opposing leadoff hitter reached base on an error. A single to right plated that run, thanks to an error on the Punisher. After a strikeout, a catcher's interference placed runners on 1st and 2nd. A wild pitch followed, moving the runners up 90 feet each. It all became moot when the fifth batter left the yard.

Greeneville also surrendered 4 runs in the first and trail by a similar 4-0 margin. Graham Ashcraft is on the mound for Greeneville.

The Bats scored 2 in the second and 3 in the fourth. They now lead 5-4.

Update: Chattanooga has struck for 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth, the big blow being a 2-run shot off the bat of Ibandel Isabel (15).

    Daytona stumbles 3-2.

Stuart Fairchild continues his torrid hitting. He went 2-3 with a walk. Fairchild smacked his 6th home run on the season.

    Mark Kolozsvary singled twice.

    Scooter Gennett doubled.

Diomar Lopez and Dauri Moreti combined for 4.1 innings of scoreless relief.

Not many silver linings here. Eduardo Salazar fanned 3 in 1.1 innings.

I am bad luck for the AZL Reds. I missed their last 2 games, both wins, but have caught their first and last games in which they have been outscored by a score of 28-7. Tonight's contest is not over, but really is as they trail 12-4.

They have used 3 pitches so far tonight, the lowest ERA of the trio is 13.50.

Centerfielder, Rafael Franco, has 2 hits.
