Human ball/strike calls make players more mediocre. Watch for robo ball/strike calls to make the best hitters and best pitchers have stats that stand out more compared to the average and below players.

Yea that was a big non-move in my opinion.

As bad as losing the last two the Reds still managed to average 7 runs per game in the series, 28 in all.. That alone should carry some excitement and reasons to feel optimistic heading forward. They scored no less than 5 per.

let's just hope that, were the Reds to be in contention for a wild card, that the deciding game doesn't fall on a Sunday

It will never happen Ump calls are baseball, and even though those of us want it, the majority of fans hate it. Who are going to argue with on calls. Just part of the game, and the umpires union would go crazy. I can see where you could review a strike three call, but nothing more. I'll be dead and gone before automated strikes will go fully into effect.

I agree. And that pitch was there to Peraza. Just got under it a little or else we would have had a tie ballgame.

Yeah, if a pitcher is struggling - like Castilo the other day - I'm going to do everything to work the count, show some patience. But a pitcher is also trying to get ahead in the count, throw strikes. Be ready.

Overall numbers may say differently, concerning swinging at the first pitch (results); but remember the other day when we came back late in Houston? That comeback victory was fueled by guys jumping on the first pitch.

Everyone, myself included, was pretty much calling this game when it was 7-0. The Reds just couldn't get anything going, and today the Brewers were getting some breaks (fluke hits, but they count). But this team doesn't give up, tightened the game, and had opportunities. Just fell short.

We split the series with one of MLB's better teams, who is also in first place in the division .... and they were playing at home. I'm quite impressed with the way this team have played vs some of MLB's best.
