Right-hander Kevin Gausman is headed to the Cincinnati Reds, sources tell ESPN. He was claimed off waivers from the Atlanta Braves. The 28-year-old has one more season remaining until he hits free agency following 2020 though could be a non-tender candidate this winter.

Per multiple Tweets the Reds have picked up Kevin Gausman off waivers from the Braves. He has one more year on his contract per one of the tweets.

His peripherals are similar to his career numbers, so there’s a good chance he bounces back. Good, smart pick up. He’s also not cheap, making $9M a year, so nice to see the Reds willing to add payroll in order to add talent.

Wow, that's interesting. I was pretty high on Gausman at one point, he's never really been able to live up to his potential but until this year the results were never all that bad either.
I'm surprised the Reds were willing to take on what was left of his salary for this season, but he seems worth a flier.

Because he strikes out 10 per 9ip and the reds need bullpen help. His FIP is 2.00 lower than his ERA.

The Tea Leaves would suggest the path of least resistance is to option Sims down to AAA.
I assume there's a chance this could be the end for Hernandez.
