Daytona got 2 in the 8th to make things a bit more interesting, but eventually fell 11-9.

John Ghyzel worked 2 hitless innings, fanning four.
Diomar Lopez pitched a hitless frame, fanning one.

Alejo Lopez reached base safely 4 times - 2 singles and 2 walks.
Jose Garcia singled twice and walked. He stole his fifth base of the season.
Hendrik Clementina wielded the big stick tonight with a single, 2 bombs (7/8) and 6 ribbies.
Drew Mount walked twice and stole a base (12).
    Yon Mendoza singled twice.

I love rookie ball. I honestly do. AZL Reds score 4 times on only 2 hits.

Debby Santana started things off with a one-out double. Jose Tello walked. Caleb Van Blake reached on an error as the first run scored. Fidel Castro walked and a second run came home in the process on a wild pitch. An infield hit to short off the bat of Elvis Gomez plated a third run. Ashton Creal walked to reload the bases. And then another free pass was issued to Chadwick Tromp to force in a 4th run.

The game is now 4-1, as Maiker Manuel is trying his best to give those runs right back.

Chattanooga led 4-0 through 6, and then the bullpen went on a work slowdown. They now trail 6-4 in the 8th.

Cory Thompson gave up 2 runs. Jesse Stallings went one better, giving up 3 runs. Ty Boyles coughed up a home run to the first batter he faced. Stone Garrett was hovering around the Mendoza Line, and Ty thought the best strategy was to send every pitch down Broadway. Center cut after center cut until Garrett finally ran into one. SMH.

The contest is heading into the 9th, where the Lookouts will have one more go at it.

Home runs by Stuart Fairchild and Mitch Nay staked Chattanooga to a 4-0 lead. The bullpen frittered it all away. End of story. 6-4 Bad guys.

Johendi Jiminian pitched well, 5 scoreless stanzas. He also stroked a base hit.

    Alfredo Rodriguez singled and walked.
Stuart Fairchild singled, homered (1) and was hit by a pitch.
    Taylor Trammell tripled and walked.
    Mitch Nay blasted a 3-run shot (10).

AZL Reds beating their opponents to death. 8-1 after 3.5 innings.

Yan Contreras walked, Chadwick Tromp walked. A wild pitch put both runners in scoring position. Wendell Marrero's single brought them both around. Debby Santana cracked his second double of the game.

    Re: 6/30/19 small beer....

The AZL Reds were involved in a typical Arizona League game through five innings, and then suddenly everything stopped. They led 10-7 at that juncture, and then there was no scoring for either team throughout the final four innings.

Pitching heroes included Ariel Mojica 1.1 scoreless innings, and Jacques Pucheu 3.0 scoreless innings, including 5 strike outs. Pucheu has now fanned 11 batters in 6.2 frames.

Yan Contreras reached base 5 times without getting a hit - 4 walks, 1 hit by pitch. He also stole a base (2).
Chadwick Tromp did likewise, walking 5 times.
Wendell Marrerto singled twice and was hit by a pitch. His OPS is now 1.011.
    Jose Tello singled and doubled.
Caleb Van Blake singled and doubled.
    Ashton Creal doubled and walked.
Fidel Castro singled twice and walked.
    Elvis Gomez singled 4 times.
