CORRECTION: B. Markey will not be making the start tonight. It is...……………………………..wait for it...………………..wait for it...……………..Sal Romano. I like it. Romano was not exactly flourishing in the pen. So, see what happens if he's put back into the rotation. Thumbs up on this move.

Chattanooga has activated TJ Friedl, and sent Stuart Fairchild back to Daytona.

Greeneville has placed Evan Kravetz, 5th-round draft choice out of Rice, onto the 60-day DL.

Rece Hinds, the #Reds 2nd round pick this year, hasn't played since being removed from a game on June 22nd, has participated in pre-game activities the last two days. He's put on an impressive show in batting practice. Not in the lineup tonight, though.

In an odd move, Scott Schebler was replaced by Narciso Crook, before the game began.

Brian O'Grady launched his 18th of the season, to stake Sal Romano to an early 1-0 lead. Sal has thrown hitless baseball over 2 innings, 3 on strikes.

UPDATE: Sal sets down the side in order in the third, adding his fourth strike out. He has faced just one over the minimum, a hitter reaching on a wild offering after striking out. Sal the Starter, we missed you.

Brendan Mckay is not a Reds' farmhand, obviously, but look at these stats: 34 starts, 165 IP, 103 H, 34 BB, 202 K, .0830 WHIP, 5.6 H/9, 0.5 HR/9, 1.9 BB/9, 11.6 K/9, 1.85 ERA. He just made his major league debut the other day and did not allow a baserunner until the 6th inning. The lone hit he gave up was a bloop single.

Louisville still leads 1-0 in the fifth.

Sal Romano is through after 4 spotless innings. He struck out 5.
Brad Markey has taken the baton, and worked a hitless frame.

    Stay tuned.

Chattanooga is up by a count of 3-0.

Packy Naughton is bouncing back nicely. He has not allowed a hit through his first 3 innings of work.

Michael Beltre walked. Alfredo Rodriguez singled. And then Jose Siri brought everyone home with home run number 6 on the year.

    Stay tuned.

Daytona is up 3-0 as the games into inning number 4. Great pitching is the order of the day.

Austin 'Slacker' Orewiler has given up 1 hit so far.

Jonathan India has a sac fly, and a walk which led to a run.

    Hendrik Clementina doubled.

A wild pitch and a Bruce Yari have pushed across 2 more runs.

Dayton leads 3-1 with South Bend threatening to add more.

Lyon Richardson has allowed 2 hits and a run, and is pitching into the 4th inning.

    Miles Gordon went deep (2).

Jay Schuyler walked, and scored on a Brian Rey double. Brian Rey eventually came home on a wild pitch.

UPDATE: Richardson worked out of further trouble with back-to-back Ks. He has fanned 6 in his 4 innings on the mound.

    Re: 7/1/19 droplets...

Louisville was cruising, up 3-0, when Indianapolis decided it might be a good decision to tie the game up. So they did. In the top of the 7th. But Louisville promptly untied it in the bottom half of the inning. They lead 4-3 now.

Brad Markey worked 2 shutout innings, before sputtering in the 7th. He was charged with the first 2 Indy runs.
Jesus Reyes gave up the third. And is now giving up more runs in the 8th. This could have consequences. Yep, serious consequences. An error extended the inning, and a homer capped a four-run outburst. 7-4 Bad Guys.

For the second time in the last week, Delino Deshields pulled off a quadruple switch. Details will not follow.

An Alex Blandino tripled gave Louisville a brief one-run lead in the bottom of the 7th. An Alex Blandino error led to 4 unearned runs in the top of the 8th.

    Re: 7/1/19 droplets...

Greeneville trailed 2-1 after the first. They trailed 2-1 after the 9th. This is actually the third good to very good game by the G-Reds pitching staff in the last four starts. This team just can't hit a lick.

Tyler Garbee worked 2.2 scoreless out of the pen.
    Tanner Cooper added 2.0 scoreless.

Rehabber Blake Trahan doubled in five trips to the plate.
Ivan Johnson laced a pair of singles.
Tyler Callihan tripled, walked, stole a base (1) and score the team's lone run.
Allen Cerda singled, walked, drove in the lone run and threw a runner out from center field.
    Danny Lantigua singled and walked.

    Re: 7/1/19 droplets...

Chattanooga has this one in the bag, leading 5-0 heading into the 9th.

Packy Naughton went two outs deep into the 7h. He did not allow a run on two hits. He put 7 down on strikes.
Sheriff Wyatt Strahan will be asked to bring it on home.

    Alfredo Rodriguez singled and walked.
TJ Friedl singled twice, walked and stole a base (13).
Jose Siri homered twice (6/7) and drove in 4.

UPDATE: Strahan did bring it home. 2.1 hitless, scoreless innings of ball.
