    Ballpark review

Currently watching Greeneville taking on Johnson City Cardinals in Johnson City. Reds are down 2-1 in bottom 7. The good thing here is that it is dollar beer night. This field had a major renovation a few years ago and it sux. The put down a rubber field for a better description and it sux but it sure save on the laundry bill. Late in the day the sun shines on it and gives off a blinding glare. Reds pitchers would love it here because it is so hard to hit a homer. 330 down left line. 315 down right sand 400 to center. The kicker is the entire outfield fence is at least 20 foot tall. Might be 23 or 24. No robbing homers here. This place really sux compared to the Greeneville park.

    Re: Ballpark review

Having attended games at both the Greeneville and Johnson City parks recently, I would agree that the Reds park is very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the game there on June 27th versus the Cardinals. We attended a game in Johnson City on June 29th and enjoyed that park as well. Pioneer Park is a must visit for anyone that enjoys the minor league circuits. The staff was great and we plan to get there one more time this year. In fairness though, the TVA Credit Union Park in Johnson City is an old facility. We enjoyed the visit to JC just as much as we did to Greeneville.
You can’t beat the closeness in proximity of the Appalachian League Parks. Some of the parks in this league are maintained strictly on a volunteer basis. We attended a game at Elizabethton this past weekend. Very interesting. Another old park with plenty of quirks but fun nonetheless. Kingsport and Pulaski are on the calendar next.
