Cubs blow the 9th inning lead.

Reds 3.5 out of the wild card.

In every other division the second place team is 5+ games out ... in our division the last place team is 4.5.

Should be a fun second half.

    Re: Brewers @ Reds 7-3-19

Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett left Wednesday’s game vs. the Brewers before the fifth inning with left groin tightness.

Gennett previously suffered a severely strained right groin on March 22, also vs. Milwaukee in a Spring Training game, that caused him to miss the first three months of the season. He returned from the 60-day injured list on June 28.

It was not specified by the Reds how Gennett’s latest injury happened, but he had to make a tough play in the outfield grass to his right on Eric Thames’ sharp grounder leading off the second inning. Gennett’s throw missed first base, but Thames was credited with a single.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
