Chattanooga placed Taylor Trammell on the temporarily inactive list. Not to worry. He is going up to play in the Futures Game.

Dayton sent Ryan Campbell down to a rehab assignment with the AZL Reds.

Wood gave up a double down the line and a single to rcf and then hit his pitch limit.

    Greeneville leads 3-1 after 5.

Hats off to Manuel Abril. He hurled 4 innings of one-run baseball. Outside of a shaky second inning, he did well.
Tanner Cooper has taken over on the mound. He worked a scoreless 5th.

Mike Spooner is 2 for 2, both singles.
Allan Cerda walked in his second plate appearance.

Daytona trails 3-1. The got on the board first on a Fairchild single, wild pitch, Garcia double.

Austin Orewiler gave up single tallies in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings.

They are stretching in St. Lucie.

Another low-scoring affair in Dayton, with the Dragons on the short end of a 1-zip score.

Lyon Richardson was on his game, giving up a lone run in 6 innings. He punched out 7. He is only at75 pitches, so he might be coming out for the 7th.

Mariel Bautista has been the lone Dayton runner so far. He singled, stole second (12), but was left stranded.

    Jackson leads Chattanooga 5-2.

Packy Naughton deserves better. He has been charged with all 5 runs, but 4 are unearned.

Michael Beltre's second bomb on the year has accounted for both of the Lookouts' runs.

Chattanooga pulls to within one run on a 2-run blast (21) off the bat of Ibandel Isabel. That makes it 5-4 through 6.

Tyler Jay comes out to work the 7th. And what are you doing, Tyler. After striking out the first batter, he hits 2 in a row. More good news: Jay induces a ground ball double play. Nice.

Daytona has gone final. 6-1 Other Guys.

Austin Orewiler recorded a quality start - 6 IP, 3 ER.
    The bullpen crashed.

    Stuart Fairchild singled twice.
    Jonathan India singled and walked.
Jose Garcia doubled and got hit by a thrown baseball.
    Hendrik Clementina singled and walked.

Billings scores twice in the first. They lead 2-0.

Nick Lodolo is too good for this league. He did not give up a hit, nor walk a batter in 2 innings. He struck out 5.

5 of the first 6 Mustangs reached base in the first. Singles off the bats of Cotton, Ruiz, Willems and Yang. A walk to LLoyd.

NOTE: Lodolo did come out for the 4th. He retired the first batter, and then gave up consecutive singles, the second of the infield variety. He threw a season high 40 pitches, and is coming out.

Greeneville led up until the 8th inning, when Bristol hung a 3-spot up on the scoreboard. G-Reds end up 5-3 losers.

Outside of Anthony Zimmerman (3 runs in 1 IP), the pitching was good. Abril (4 IP), Cooper (3 IP) and Byrd (1 IP).

Allan Cerda 2-run shot (6), stolen base (2) and a walk.
    Mike Spooner laced 2 singles.

Dayton can't score, so they go down 1-0, wasting 2 fine pitching efforts.

Lyon Richardson gave up one run over 6 innings. Big mistake. He struck out 7.
Adrian Rodriguez did not allow a hit in his 3 innings.

Five Dragons' hitters each singled. The team drew no bases on balls. Hard to score that way.

Chattnooga put aside the fundamentals tonight. They have surrendered 11 runs, just 3 were earned. They are heading to the plate in the bottom of the 9th down 11-4. The 2 leading home run hitters in the Southern League deposited baseballs over the fence.
Isabel hit #21. Jazz Chisolm cracked 2, #16 and #17.

Packy Naughton was roughed up for 5 runs (1 earned) in 5 innings.
Tyler Jay worked a scoreless stanza.
Wyatt Strahan got blistered for 6 runs (2 earned) over the last 2 innings.

    Calten stroked 3 singles.
    Mitch Nay singled and double.
As noted, Ibandel Isabel cracked a 2-run shot (21).
Michael Beltre singled and homered (2).

Christian Colon (7) and Aristides Aquino (21) both went deep in the 4th for Louisville. They trail by the slimmest of margins at 3-2 in the 5th.

Re: 7/6/19 picking up the pieces....

Billings got back on the winning track, winning a pitcher's duel 2-1.

Nick Lodolo with another scoreless stint, this one 2.1 innings long. He fanned 5.
Omar Conoropo with another solid effort, He allowed 1 earned run in 5.2 innings. He gave up just 2 hits, and struck out 5.
Francis Peguero made things interesting in the 9th, but earned his 1st save as a Mustang.

Quin Cotton is hitting .377 now. He singled twice.
Victor Ruiz went 2 for 2, singling and doubling, before being replaced by a pinch runner and exiting the game.
Jonathan Willems singled and doubled. He is swinging a .342 bat.
    Eric Yang singled twice.

Re: 7/6/19 picking up the pieces....

Louisville saw Alex Wood make his rehab debut last night. That and 2 solo shots were the highlights for the Bats. They were greatly outnumbered by the lowlights. Louisville falls 7-2.

Alex Wood allowed a run in 1.1 innings.
The bullpen was generally good: Markey, Kuhnel, Archer and Mantiply.
Jackson Stephens got raked over the coals.

Christian Colon singled, jacked out one (7) and walked.
Aristides Aquino hit a solo shot (21).
Alex Blandino reached base 3 times on 2 singles and a base on balls.
    Sherman Johnson singled and walked.
