    7/10/19 the beat goes on

Congrats to the farm clubs, 8-2 over the last 2 days. Nice to see.

Louisville - will have one more day off. Josh VanMeter is coming back to the Bats.

Chattanooga - has the night off. They can't quite seem to catch that winning spirit, losers of 5 straight.

Daytona - is playing a matinee game today. They are trailing 3-1 as the contest moves into the bottom of the 8th. NOTE: Jonathan India doubled to lead off the 4th inning. At the end of the inning he was taken out of the game.

Dayton - is playing Wisconsin tonight, the whole freaking state. Eduardo Salazar (4.75) gets the ball.

Billings - had yesterday off. Justin McGregor (6.75) will deal for the Mustangs.

Greeneville - is sending Jose Salvador (7.47) to the hill. Salvador has an affinity for jumbo jets.

AZL-Reds - are enjoying the second day of a 2-day respite. They will resume play on 7/11 with a record of 7-11. Weird.

DSL-Reds - are heading into the bottom of the 9th, behind 8-6.

Re: 7/10/19 the beat goes on

The DSL-Reds were down 8-4 at one point, but rallied to score 2 in the 8th, and 2 more in the 9th. All for naught. They fall in extras 9-8.

Yoel Diaz was the 3rd of the 3 pitchers, and actually pitched the best. But, he absorbs the loss. Diaz went 4.2 innings, and the only run he allowed was due to the ignorant rule that places a runner on second when the game goes into extra innings.

The DSL-Reds had their shot in the bottom of the 10th. It did not last long. The runner placed on second was erased attempting to steal 3rd. It, effectively, took the bat out of the hands of Jose Acosta, who is only hitting over .400. And that was that.

Esmil Torres singled twice, doubled and stole second (6).
Thomas Lora singled, walked, and hit a sac fly.
Jose Acosta (.417) singled and walked. It was Acosta's 5th multi-hit game in a row.
Darlin Guzman doubled in his only at-bat. He was safe on a play at the plate in the second, and came out of the game right away.
    Junior Melo singled three times.
Fraudy Rodriguez singled and walked twice.
Junior Tamares singled, walked and stole second (8).

Daytona is giving the fans some free baseball, thanks to a 4-run ninth inning. They have taken a 6-5 lead, and are still batting in the top of the 10th.

NOTE: After India doubled to lead off the 10th, Andy Sugilio, the team's leading hitter, was pinch hit for.

Both India and Sugilio were removed in the 4th inning.

Ft. Myers has tied it in the bottom of the 10th as Julio Pinto walked home a run with one out, then induced a pop up.
