The US has got to move away from the Failed Generation. Roll deep on Gen Z. Only Milennials playing in Europe need apply.

I'm not a system player. I am a system.

I would say that there is plenty of young talent playing overseas that should be regular call ups. I wouldn't rule out MLS players, but primarily those who are young talents with potential that is good enough to draw interest from overseas. If you're in your late 20s and still kicking around MLS, that's probably a sign that you are what you are. There's not a lot of room for improvement there.
Wear gaudy colors, or avoid display. Lay a million eggs or give birth to one. The fittest shall survive, yet the unfit may live. Be like your ancestors or be different. We must repeat!

I agree with M2, cut your teeth in Europe. Cut your teeth at a young age with their clubs, just the practice you get is far better than what you see in America.
I have no issue with up and comers who play in the MLS, but they should be players who have potential to play at the European Club level. The Yedlin's shouldn't be overlooked just because he plays in the MLS. I also think there could be a place with a player who has a unique skills set where they still are valuable to the national team even though their high level club playing days are over. I think back to Dempsey and Howard, who helped the national team, but weren't the same players they were earlier in their career.
But the mainstay MLS All-Stars who thrive in the MLS but are exposed at the international level need to be done away with. How many shots did Wondo get? How about Zardes or Morris, just who just aren't good enough to hack it at the international level.
On a side note, have there been any MLS players who really shined on the International level who stayed in the MLS their entire career? The only guy who I can remember was Beckerman who had a nice run as an older player.
US playing Jamaica about to kick off on ESPN2. Friendly being played in Austria, but first time in a long time that has something of a lineup that might appear in qualifying.

Speaking of which, Dest just put up an absolute highlight reel goal there. Wow.

The exciting thing for me is that the MLS clubs are increasingly producing young talent in their academies and clubs are increasingly placing their trust in the youth. A decade ago, a "young" player in MLS was 23, a year out of school, and likely a sub. Now, there's kids like Aaronson who go from an unknown for Philly to bossing it at Salzburg within 12 months. Orlando is about to drown in money when Dike makes the move (even though he wasn't an academy product).
All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.
It seems to me Ze German clubs are falling in love with American youths and I am absolutely here for it.
It helps that the best striker in the world absolutely loves his American teammate and talks about him a lot.
Reyna is fantastic. He seems to be extremely intense on top of being uber talented.

I like Dest, Brooks and Long in the back. Reggie Cannon ain’t it though.
I thought Sargent was impressive.
