    Great monologue...

Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. -- Carl Sagan (Pale Blue Dot)

Blade Runner takes place in 2019. Bauer reportedly improvised that monologue and wrote it mostly himself.

I bonded with my first ex-wife over Ladyhawke. A good watch for its time.

    Re: RIP Rutger Hauer

When they were making the first X-Men movie, Rutger Hauer was who I envisioned as Erik Lehnsherr. Ian McKellen did a great job and made the role his, but I always wonder what it would have been like if they had cast Hauer as Magneto. He was a fine actor in his own right, and he just had the look!
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.
