Hate to hear of his passing. From 1974 through 1977 he was the most feared deep threat in the NFL.
He never had the dramatic catch in a Super Bowl, but he had a good argument for induction into the NFL Hall of Fame when compared to his wide receiver contemporary, Lynn Swann.
"Hey...Dad. Wanna Have A Catch?" Kevin Costner in "Field Of Dreams."

Great receiver. I figured he was in the HOF. He should be. He was as good or better than most of his contemporaries. I like to watch old NFL games on Youtube and I was just watching a Raiders/Dolphins game from 1979 that he played in. He and Biletenkoff were Stabler's favorite targets during that time. Read his wikipedia article and you can see that he passed getting at least one Gold Medal at the '72 Olympics so he could get himself ready for football his rookie season with the Oakland Raiders.
