Still hoping for Lance Parrish out of him. That would be huge.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I'd take a Jonathan Lucroy type of career and be happy with that.

But will he make baserunners wrestle him for the right to touch home plate?

I’ll take a .750 OPS with a solid OBP and solid defense.
What would you say.....ya do here?

I love Chadwick Tromp as a potent bat off the bench. AAA line of .286/ .367/ .471/ .838 in 240 PAs. Still young and developing some power.

Between Stephenson and Tromp, the catching position may be good enough to simply sign a free agent for one year.

Did y'all catch the "poor man's" part of the poor man's Joe Mauer? I'm pretty comfortable predicting Stephenson will never win a MVP, three Gold Gloves, three batting titles or go on to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I do think he's a big dude that's more pure hitter than masher. With that size though he could tap into some real power though; certainly not out of the question. There's a lot of untapped potential in there, but even on his current trajectory he looks like a contributor. To boot, supposed to be a great guy and clubhouse presence.

I suspect, as currently constructed, Stephenson is a Terry Kennedy/ Matt Wieters clone.

    He has Mickey Tettleton upside.

Yeah somebody like Grandal would be nice
The television crews left and about 10 reporters remained in the room. That's when Price took his turn doing the talking.
What followed was a five-minute, 34-second expletive-filled tirade. The final tally was 77 uses of the "F" word or a variant and 11 uses of a vulgar term for feces (two bovine, one equine).

Tromp's supposedly quite good behind the plate too.

Re: Tyler Stephenson note and question

Just noticed that he is now #57 over all on FanGraphs top prospect list.

    https://www.fangraphs.com/prospects/...=200&pagenum=0

Apparently just updated 4 days ago and he gets some positive comments from them. (FYI Jeter Downs and Josiah Gray make the top 100 as well, ugh)

    Kiley McDaniel: 1. Tyler Stephenson – 50 FV, 56th overall, 6th C in MILB

Kiley McDaniel: kinda amazed Stephenson isn’t on every top 100, btw. go poke a hole in that profile. performs, tools, pedigree, well-rounded, durable, consistent, two easy plus tools in power and arm

Arizona Fall League Prospect Report -- September 25, 2019

Tyler Stephenson, C, Reds. Stephenson had three hits in five at-bats for Glendale. The catcher collected two base knocks and a double while driving in a run and coming around to score twice. Stephenson has improved his knowledge of the strike zone and is getting on-base more frequently. His overall skillset behind the dish should help him get to the big leagues sooner rather than later.

Would go a long way toward helping the club if TySteve can establish himself in the majors by the end of 2020.
