Wisconsin comes out in the second half, forces Ohio State to punt, blocks the punt, and takes the short field in for a TD. My brother immediately starts harping on momentum shift to Wisconsin. Five minutes later - "You still worried?" LOL

Best played game this year by Ohio State IMO... and vs the #1 defense in the country I might add ... and also crappy weather.

264 total yards rushing for OSU. Dobbins was a man on a mission and could not be stopped. He was blowing me away. And on the defensive side Chase Young was a monster.... 6 solo tackles, 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles. You're gonna need a DE like that in the CFP.

The bye helps. But Day, vs the likes of a Maryland and Rutgers, two terrible football programs, better be pulling (protecting) his starters once the game is well in hand (after the 1st Q LOL).

This Buckeye team is simply outstanding. Moving Chase Young around instead of putting him in the one place WISC could have tried to plan for was brilliant. Its really amazing this team isn't #1, but whatever, they'll have the opportunity to beat anyone in their way. My biggest fear is Justin Fields gets hurt. Ryan Day shouldn't have let this lack of QB depth happen. I'd get the backups significant playing time against Maryland and Rutgers (even start the Rutgers game).

I mean, not really Day’s fault the lack of QB depth happened. Tathan Martell and Baldwin bolted the second they brought in Fields. What’s he supposed to do in that scenario? He brought in a solid QB from Kentucky.
What would you say.....ya do here?

And Fields is still a first year starter that needs reps, you can’t just bench him all the time. Day has managed it fine. Fields isn’t running all that often and he’s only taken a couple tough hits passing, which is a big credit to the line.

I think Baldwin transferring shocked OSU's coaching staff. But I don't exactly think day let the QB depth thing happen. He went out and brought in Justin Fields, the highest rated player ever to come to OSU. I think that is a no brainer, you have a chance to do that, you do it. When he did that, the writing was on the wall for Tate to transfer. But ask yourself, would you rather have nice QB depth in Tate and Baldwin, or would you rather have an elite level QB with little depth?

FWIW I think Baldwin would have beaten out Tate and Tate would have transferred regardless.

Would be interesting to see a championship game between OSU-LSU with OSU transfer Burrows on the other side of the line.

According to the Sagarin ratings, #1 Ohio State would be about 8.5 point favorites over #2 Alabama on a neutral field.

That sounds right. It’s a little tough to gauge, but Alabama seems to have some defensive problems that I think OSU would really take advantage of. Basically I think OSU could score in the 35-45 range and I don’t think Alabama could get more than 24-28.

I think we've reached the point where it will be disappointing if this team doesn't win a championship, barring injury. They've just been so good.

Agree. I just think it all falls apart if Fields gets injured. They've got great backups everywhere else on the roster.

Remember when Syracuse was Clemson's toughest opponent. Maryland spanked them.........and that was the high point of their season.

Yeah I think Maryland was up to like 20 in the polls after that. So I plan on counting this a win over a ranked opponent.
