    Yeah that was my impression too. He took the bat out of a player who hits into gaps and put in in the hands of a slugger.

    I can't imagine the HBP was on purpose.

    A good old fashioned pitch around would have done the same thing.

    And if Jose dodges the HBP attempt...the tying run probably scores.

    excellent idea. baseball is subjective...judgement calls are the whole game. the box distracts. players have been complaining about strike calls since abner doubleday. leave baseball alone.
