They are. Most of this lineup is not guaranteed a spot on the roster next spring. They're saving their auditions until then.

If the Reds go on to lose, and with the Cardinals winning handily, the Reds will fall to 10 games back for the division, and 9 back for the wild card. If I'm correct, that will be the furthest back they have been all year. The season definitely ended last night, or maybe it was April 9.
