    Error on Votto.

    Terrible scoring decision.

That’s fine. But it is inviting disaster (your words).

If he had retired the first two batters I'd agree with you. But he plunked the leadoff hitter and walked the second one.

At that point the winning run is at the plate with nobody out and your starter is already approaching 110 pitches and it's only the 7th inning. Even if he was able to retire the next 3 guys, he'd be looking at 140 pitches to make it all 9.

I dunno, it's all hindsight now. But it sure didn't work out.

Let's face it. This pitching staff is a lose-lose situation. Because basically, this is a club of losers.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

Not sure about bullpen disaster, but keeping in a pitcher who is sniffing a no-hitter is what has to be done. Especially so when there is absolutely no post-season possibilities.

Runner at 3rd with only one out now after a sac bunt.

Welp that oughta do it. 4-2 on a Nola RBI

This offense ain't got 2 more runs in 'em.

Ugh. This game is a kick in the pants.

A bad Seattle team showing how bad the Reds really are.

It was the 7th inning with nobody out and he was already approaching 110 pitches, his season high has been 111.

How long you gonna let him go? 120? 130? 140?

I'm sure the memories of the no hitter would be fun next year after he goes under the knife for TJ surgery.

It’s simple math. Gray was not pitch efficient. He wasn’t going 9.

That's where I'm at. Even if he got out of the 7th inning mess, he wasn't going the whole game. There was no way.

I was asking a question, man. It's part of a conversation. You're being a little bit dramatic with the whole "wrists slit" line.

    Lol

I don't think we can jump to the conclusion that leaving Gray in for that spot in the 7th meant they were intending to keep him out there at 120+ pitches for the no-hitter.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
