Fyi...Lasix expands the blood vessels in a horses lungs allowing it to get more air, which then produces more blood flow and energy for the horse, but at the same time it can cause the blood vessels to break in the lungs resulting in bleeding and horses have been known to die from it after a race. It's extremely painful to the horse and is rather torturous.
When you see a horse bleeding through the nose after a race, it's because of Lasix.
I'd like to think New York is a little more humane to their horses.
