How in the Devil's name are those called strikes to Blandino?

Thom truly is dejected by Hammels ineffective outing.

Opposing pitcher received a 5-ft wide strike zone that inning.

Honestly, I don't see any NL central team going very far into the playoffs.

    But you never know.

Oh those were the days. My 14 yr old self kept thinking and hoping that Redus and Householder would become superstars.

Punisher hit as many HRs in August as Driessen's team lead on Sept. 17.

I dunno, though. Driessen may have hit 30 with these balls, smaller parks, and expansion.

Haha, me too, but not Duane Walker who I despised.

Yeah. I used to listen to the radio and keep score in an official scorebook I had. Why I did that for the 1982 team I had no idea. I was 8. My dad kept telling me that Householder in particular was no good. I refused to believe him. My dad was a smart guy. I should have listened to him more often.

Same here. I'd lay down in my bed and keep the scorebook listening to Marty and Joe. I wish I still had some of those. I scored Browning's perfect game. Would love to have that now.

Major League Baseball should be ashamed to employ the Umpires they pay to call balls and strikes in 2019.

Yeah it was fun. I did it occasionally for the 83 and 84 teams as well, until my book ran out of room. I always jumped on the Sunday DaytonDaily too first thing to checkout the league leaders page they put out every Sunday. By 85, I was busy playing traveling baseball in the summer and often missed the first few innings.
