Need to get some lefty hitters in against tough Mets RHP pitchers. So O’Grady and Dietrich get a chance. Five of eight Reds position players today hit from left side (including switch hitter Barnhart).

David Bell said they sent home Freddy Galvis, Michael Lorenzen, Robert Stephenson, Kevin Gusman and Josh VanMeter -- all are sick. Just about everyone on the team has had the flu-like symptoms since the series in Seattle

For the second straight contest, the Reds starter retires the side on just 5 pitches in the first.

    Give it a ride, Geno!

Turned into a thrill ride but I'll take it

Not a good start for the Toddfather in the field

    Tough inning for Frazier
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Barnhart's AB was a good example of a hitter trying to force something to happen rather than responding to the pitches that he sees.
