When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

Lou should have been in several years ago. Scott Rolen should make it in at some point.I know he wasn't on this list. But I have a feeling Rolen won't get in for a while shame because he should be in. Had he been a Yankee he would already be in. Parker fan but IMO he is not a hall of famer. But then again neither is Phil Rizzuto. It is a joke that Rizzuto is in.

Whitaker is an easy pick, IMO.
Simmons is arguably one of the top 15 catchers of all time, so he's in.
Tommy John should be in because of both longevity and his namesake surgery.
Evans is in too. Great reputation as a defender. (I have no clue whether that was deserved, but 8 Gold Gloves would argue for it as well.) Behind Winfield, he was the second-best RF in the game for a decade to 15 years.
Parker should be in. Two batting titles. A smattering of league leading stats in other categories. Five times MVP top 5 finishes, including one win. Two World Series rings.
The only knock -- and it's a big one -- is the drug thing.

I'm generally cool with anyone from this ballot making it in, but Lou Whitaker would be my vote. Though will there ever be love for Bobby Grich?

I spent years watching players come through Charleston and, best as I can remember, only two members of the home team are in the Hall of Fame, and neither for doing what they did here--Tony LaRussa and Trevor Hoffman. I'd love for Parker to be the first guy to get into the Hall for doing what I watched him do.

I'll take Marvin Miller and anybody but Garvey. Noticed that in a 19-year career and nearly ten thousand plate appearances, Lou Whitaker was only hit by 20 pitches. Doesn't that seem remarkable, or is it just me?
Stick to your guns.
I remember this from the years I lived in Pittsburgh...every town has their aholes...
..."PITTSBURGH -- A fan threw a battery at Pittsburgh Pirates right-fielder Dave Parker Sunday, and a visibly angered manager Chuck Tanner said the incident took the spirit from his team, which lost 5-3 to the Philadelphia Phillies after rallying to tie the game."...
..."Parker has been the target of such missiles before. During the 1979 and 1980 seasons, after he had signed a five-year, multimillion-dollar contract, spectators threw at various times a bat, a steel valve and a five-pound sack of nuts and bolts at him.
The latest incident occured in the top of the eighth inning Sunday. In the seventh, Parker had made a fielding error that helped give Philadelphia a run.
Parker brought the battery, which missed him, into the dugout but declined Tanner's offer to remove him from the game."...

Dale Murphy... 2 time MVP...7 all star. 4 silver slugger
1st pick of the 2023 baseball amateur draft
Also one of the least deserving players on this ballot. I don't have a problem if he makes it, but then we better be prepared to have serious consideration for Kenny Lofton, Andruw Jones, Jim Edmonds, Willie Davis, Jim Wynn, Vada Pinson, Cesar Cedeno, Chet Lemon, Johnny Damon, Fred Lynn, Bernie Williams, Brett Butler and Devon White.
