We hear stories of players who are lacking in an area (or two) in their games and believe they can be fixed with extra practice. Sometimes that can be successful. Other times no matter how much you practice you just don't have the talent to be elite.

Red Sox agree to deal with free agent infielder Jose Peraza. Close to 3M and incentives.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Peraza do well in Boston. He definitely needed a change of scenery.

More than one thing can be true.

I'm not absolving him of his responsibility for 2019. But the guy hit in 2018. So he can hit.

    "Will" is another story.

Re: The fate of Jose Peraza

    - The Red Sox erased some uncertainty at second base by striking an agreement with José Peraza for one year at roughly $3 million, a source told MLB.com on Thursday. The club has not confirmed the deal, which is still pending a physical. One significant part of the pending transaction is that it likely signals the end of popular utility player Brock Holt's time with the Red Sox.

Peraza should have a golden opportunity to earn playing time at second base. Michael Chavis could also be part of the mix at second.

Reds two non-tenders did pretty well for themselves. Gausman and Peraza. Pretty quickly too.

Reds saved some money, hope they should put it to work.

There ya go..The Reds will play the Sox in the WS in 2020 and Jose will hit .590 during the series and become the most sought after 2nd baseman of all time.. But the Reds will still win when Joey Votto reinvents his batting stance once again and chokes up 4 feet punching out home runs with just the nub of the bat.. You heard it here first folks.

I like this kid, I also think he has a confidence issue that is pretty clear cut from his body language at times.

We will see if he can grow, he will never be a star, but he can play baseball

I don't buy into that interpretation of him. Just not a lot to his game when he's not getting hit luck at the plate. However, if he's grappling with confidence, Boston's a tough market to find it.
