Plus, Dickerson is a better defender. I don't get it. I would be all over him for around 8-10 million a year for 3 years.
I like Dickerson but I don't know that I buy that he's a better bet than Castellanos. Castellanos was called up when he was very young so like Moustakas his career line doesn't quite tell you his current level, over the last four seasons Castellanos has an OPS that is 30 points higher than Dickerson. He's also almost 3 years younger and has had significantly less time lost to the DL/IL. Also I don't know what to make of it but metrics think Dickerson went back to his pre-2018 level of bad defense last season.

But you are right that he should be cheaper, and is certainly not a bad alternative.

#Reds not done trying to add high-priced offense after signing Moustakas. They are among the teams interested in free-agent outfielder Marcell Ozuna, sources tell The Athletic. Earlier this week,

Does sound like Ken is signaling that this is moving closer...

I wish he was, but I think someone posted yesterday, or so, that that was a false rumor.

They wouldn’t need to clear a spot to sign a free agent. They already had room.

If I had a guess, it’s to accommodate a trade of non-40 man roster prospects for MLB players.

I believe MSN was the only source reporting him to the White Sox.

Dickerson strikes me as someone who ends up going to Milwaukee for cheap and puts up an .850 OPS year and next year gets a big deal. Seems to be the way things work.

But it's possible they wanted to keep the existing 40 man spot open for the Rule V draft.

If Ozuna comes to Cincinnati, it sure does make the OF interesting.

Aquino, Ervin, Jankowski, Ozuna, Martini, Schebler, Senzel, Siri, VanMeter, and Winker. Some of these dudes surely couldn't be on the 2020 roster come opening day.

He never was. Some latin american reporter with ~2K followers tweeted it and everyone jumped on it.

He would have to be even cheaper than that for me.... like 2/12 million.
