Top 30 BA is .290 or higher....that would satisfy my needs in our lineup, not sub .250 for 5 years. Hard PASS! This is on our FO, make trade deals in addition to free agent moves. Its win now baby! So if you have to pay with prospects and current lineup guys then do so.

I just am putting my faith in the front office. Last offseason we made a splash. Didnt settle and got Bauer in season. Signed Galvis as well. This offseason we jump on Moose right out of gate.

Like some have stated above, maybe Castellanos doesnt want to be a Red, or too expensive, or we just arent interested. Point being, let the front office work and make the moves they know are available to make and see how it plays out.

16 hitters in the NL hit .290 or better.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

I'd be stunned if Ozuna got something like 5/$125M. I was thinking closer to 4/$64 or 5/$80 at the beginning of the off-season. It is hard to gauge the market currently. If he could be had for the 4/$64 or 5/$80 I would be fine with it. I'm not going higher or longer though.

Ozuna could be a sleeper OBP guy. He walked at an 11.3% clip last year. His BABIP cratered though. It isn't crazy to think he could be a .270/.350/.500 bat next year in his age 29 season.

For me, it's less about Iglesias and more about the comment of the Reds being "set" at SS with Galvis. The only person left on the 40 man who logged a single inning at SS last season was Kyle Farmer and he logged exactly 1 inning. I can't imagine going into next season with Galvis and Blandino being the only capable shortstops on the 40 man.

CTrent throws cold water on the idea of a move pending because of the Alaniz outrighting:

“Getting back to this, but the outrighting of RJ Alaniz had less to do with any pending move as the timing of how many players were on waivers and the ability to get him through waivers. With the Rule 5 draft coming up, that wire is crowded.”

The fact that they felt the need to do it makes me believe that they are planning on doing something this winter.
The television crews left and about 10 reporters remained in the room. That's when Price took his turn doing the talking.
What followed was a five-minute, 34-second expletive-filled tirade. The final tally was 77 uses of the "F" word or a variant and 11 uses of a vulgar term for feces (two bovine, one equine).

Today on MLBNetwork Williams said the only set positions are 1B, 2B and 3B. He said Galvis offers flexibility.

I like the sound of that. Interesting that Senzel in CF and Barnsali at C isn't set.

    Williams' interview:

    1. Great to sign Moustakas because fans get excited.

    2. Speaking of Moustakas, wanted to get something done quickly. Had more resources to spend. Likes to have a guy who can stay healthy, add to offense.

    3. Still believes NL Central is stacked, but 57 one-run games gives him hope. Mentioned Bauer specifically as help for 2020.

    4. Still looking to add offense. If so, Reds "will be in a good spot".

    5. Felt Reds needed to be aggressive because of small number of good free agents.

    6. Mentioned rotation as major team strength. Mahle kind of an after-thought.

    7. SS and the OF are flexible for free agent acquisition. Mentioned bench options as well. (1B, 2B, 3B, and C were mentioned as a group.)

    8. Praise for Derek Johnson, Curt Casali vis a vis Sonny Gray's success.

    9. Looking to add multiple good deals from undervalued assets/ minor league free agents like Gennett.

    From Heyman...

While Gregorius has multiyear opportunities it’s possible he may choose to reset his value with a 1 year deal now that he’s at full health

I’d be down with an overpay for one year and see what happens.
