I'd do 3/45 for Didi. His offensive struggles last year were due to a .237 BAbip while his career average is .278 BAbip. There's noting in his advanced stats that leads me to believe the low BAbip was anything other than tough luck. I think it's pretty likely he can bounce back to an .800 ops next year in his age 30 season.

I think they are "year'd" out for Didi. I have always liked Gregorius but, at this point, I don't see offering him more than 2 years and that is simply not going to fit, IMHO, what Didi is going to be looking for at this time in his career. Mitri suggests 32 for 2, which I'd endorse too, but I just don't see him taking that. So you can say they can afford $60 for 4, but I don't think they want to get that old at both SS and 2b at those prices.

I might be convinced to go $18M for one year.

    The AAV might trump security.

Doubt it, though-- it's just not enough of a bump to matter all that much.

I doubt Didi is a significant upgrade to Galvis. For example, I know he is off the board, but I think there was far move value in the upgrade from Mahle to Wheeler than we would get from Galvis to Didi.

I think we need guaranteed right handed production in the outfield.

Sign Castellanos and count on 155 games in left field.

    Sign Keuchel.

Trade a Winker and parts for another upgrade in the bullpen or rotation.

    Imagine a lineup of

Senzel, Votto, Suarez, Moustakas, Castellanos, Aquino, Galvis, Barnhart.

I would be ok with this plan.

I’m all for Castellanos but haven’t seen the reds tied to him much

It's been a while since anything new developed but they've been reported interested. The only update I've seen on him is the Moose contract has elevated his price and the Cubs are likely out.

I think I would be more interested in Puig if he is significantly cheaper....like 2 Years / $22 Million.

If it was that big of a deal I'm pretty confident they could get rid of that contract via trade pretty easily.

Puig brought excitement but little else. I thought he would take a jump last year being in a contract year and a hitter friendly ballpark, but he did little to impress. He is what he is, and IMO the Reds should be aiming higher. Castellanos or Dickerson would be my OF FA targets.

Steamer Galvis projection 0.2 fWAR in 626 PA
Steamer Gregorius projection 2.6 fWAR in 595 PA

I think Galvis will be closer to a 1.5 fWAR in 2020, especially if given the everday job, but Steamer is more objective than me, and Gregorius had consecutive 4 win seasons before the injury.

I would be willing to go 3 year - $45M and even give him a team option year like Moustakas if it got the deal done.

To me Corey Dickerson is looking like he could be the steal of the offseason.

    .286/.328/.504 career line

    Below is Castellanos:

    .277/.326/.471

Plus, Dickerson is a better defender. I don't get it. I would be all over him for around 8-10 million a year for 3 years.

I'm with ya, not sure why we haven't heard more about him yet. I guess the bigger pieces need to fall in place first.

#reds roster manuevering: RHP RJ Alaniz sent outright to AAA Louisville, clearing a 40 man spot. Wonder if another move is cooking to fill that spot. I’d be surprised if it was for the Rule 5 Draft
