Austin Hendrick is ranked #84 in Baseball America Top 100 prospects. Hunter Greene is #86 and Nick Lodolo is #87.

    2020 Top 100 Prospects

    #84 Austin Hendrick
    Reds
    OF
    Notes:
    Final 2019 Ranking: NA
    Tools: Hit: 60 | Power: 70 | Run: 45 | Fielding: 50 | Arm: 60
    2019 Average Exit Velo: NA

Skinny: Quite simply, Hendrick has the potential to be an offensive monster. Scouting directors rated him as the second-best hitter in the 2020 high school class and the best power prospect as well. There are questions about Hendrick’s swing-and-miss and whether the competition he faced as a high schooler in Pennsylvania could have somewhat inflated his offensive output. Hendrick also has excellent arm strength that would play well in right field.

Shame we can't see him play this year.

All right around each other in the mid 80s range.

They're missing the boat on Garcia. He belongs in the top 100, so does TySteve. There is a ton of flexibility on the bottom of the list 50-100. You can make a case on a couple guys on every team who arguably belong. That they didn't make it is more of a numbers crunch than a knock on either.
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

Agreed. And personally, I think Lodolo and Greene both belong in the top 50.

I firmly believe Garcia is left off because prospect gurus refuse to admit when they are wrong.

I can understand a certain wariness about Greene (though I personally don't share it) but Lodolo seems ridiculously low.

I feel like these BA rankings show how arbitrary these rankings are after the first 10-15. There's also a good deal of groupthink.

Greene has as high a ceiling as any pitcher in the game. Lodolo was the seventh overall pick, dominated and looks like a really high floor guy on the fast track.

Both are after a high school RF with questions about his hit tool? You're telling me a GM would trade away Greene or Lodolo for Hendrickson?

Both Lodolo and Greene could be No. 20 as they could be Nos. 86 and 87. These rankings are a lot of fun, but I don't think we need to put too much stock in them.

Anything in the top 100 - 120 seems pretty solid to me.

I wouldn’t put much stock in the rankings. But they aren’t totally arbitrary. The reasons are pretty obvious. Not necessarily fair; maybe a misjudgment in terms of talent or projection; but the reasons usually reflect an injury, a bad season, too little track record; improvement but not quite enough; still needs to crack AA; similar factors.

Doesn’t mean much, but one can see where BA and others are coming from.

I don’t agree with regard to Garcia being left off. It’s inexcusable.
