I would trade Senzel before Aquino

I know Senzel is beloved, but there's WAY too much talk of trading Aquino on this board. Here's why not to trade Aquino:

1) He busted some serious all time records last year.
2) Though he dipped in September, he has shown the resilience to break out of slumps by adjusting.
3) He rates highly defensively with a world-class arm.
4) He has shown durability.

And why I'd trade Senzel before him:
1) Senzel has not touched his potential nearly the way Aquino has.
2) Senzel has not shown the capacity to adjust productively at the ML level.
3) He rates as mediocre defensively.
4) He's not been durable, and has had a worrisome brain disorder.

Sometimes players break out, and sometimes you spend years waiting on Austin Kearns. I hope the Reds don't over-invest in the idea that Senzel will be a star.

I don't think it's unreasonable to consider trading Senzel in the right deal. Trading him for someone like Christian Pache and one of the Braves top flight pitching prospects could make some sense, especially if they think Senzel could still play 3b.

Even if by some chance it ends up being right I will take the Senzel player first 10 out of 10 times and be happy with my decision.

I'm not trading either one of them for a 1 or 2 year rental.

Senzel had a .742 OPS in his rookie season while learning to play centerfield for the first time in his life. Health is a concern. But the Reds have got something of very high value here.

I would 100% trade Aquino for anything close to an ace pitcher regardless of how long he's controlled. There isn't much to suggest his hot start will be sustainable.
