Astros are apparently thinking of trading Carlos Correa for salary cap reasons.

I would be ALL over that.

What would a Correa package even look like from the Reds?

Jose Peraza has at least four teams interested in him, per source, including the Orioles and Indians.
I will never understand what teams see in that guy.

It is what it is, move on and make good decisions

Baseball during the season or during the off-season is likely 75% disappointment, the rest all debatable

If Didi really wanted to stay on the east coast and play for Giradi again you can't blame the Reds. If C. Trent says the Reds were in it to the end I believe it.
Actually C Trent said that's what he was told. If the person telling him that was Didi, Didi's agent, or the Red's (I suspect the latter), as Mandy Rice Davis would say
"Well he would say that, wouldn't he".

I think it’s more likely than not that Galvis is the SS on Opening Day, but this place usually puts a ton of stock in FO quotes yet is totally ignoring the “Only 1B, 2B, and 3B positions are set” one.
Just because they kick some tires, it doesn't mean they intend to buy the car. I'm sure there's scenarios where they'd bring in another SS and either try to ship out Galvis or swallow hard and put his salary on the bench. Didi for $14M wasn't one of them.

As an aside, how shook can people be that the Reds aren't signing all the free agents? They never have.

He's great at putting the bat on the ball. Which is actually his problem. He's so good at it that he doesn't give himself a chance to drive the ball. His contact is really weak.

    No.
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

On one hand you've got posters saying that Trent's quote is the Reds trying to save face. And on the other side you've got posters saying that Trent's quote is of course what Didi's side is going to say about wanting to play for his old manager.

Basically, no matter what, the Reds are bumbling idiots who screwed the pooch.
Big time! I would love to know what the Reds were offering him. We'll never know. But if they offered him a multi-year deal with decent money, and he turned it down for a 1 yr gig with Philly, then what does that possibly tell us what he thinks of returning to Cincy?

Like woy said - It is what it is. You move on.

But so far this Holiday season Santa ain't given us RZers anything off the top of our Christmas list. First Grandal, now Didi.

Maybe he'll give us a lump of Cole in our stockings? LOL

So we can put a check-mark by SS for '20. No, I'm not too thrilled with Galvis. I'm assuming in the minds of this management he's a "he'll suffice" acquisition. Yeah, I've moved on from Iglesias, but I would have rather had his D at SS over Galvis'. Nuff said.

So how can this possibly be interpreted, if at all, from the Red's standpoint of addressing their offense? It sure does appear the Moose signing is "the" acquisition for the off-season, from an offensive perspective. Something in the back of my mind now tells me that this management's further focus this off-season is to continue to strengthen this pitching staff top to bottom, while also strengthening the bench. Wouldn't be surprised. And not saying that's a bad thing either. Your pitching can never be strong enough.

He has OPS’ed above 800 once in his life. And even that year at .829, it wasn’t what I would call “well above .800”.
