Don't be surprised if @Reds keep pedal to the metal and pull off Francisco Lindor trade now. They can send @Indians a solid SS in Freddy Galvis along with Nick Senzel and a top prospect or two, like 3B Jonathan India, OF Jose Siri or SS Blake Trahan.

LOL @ Siri and Trahan being top prospects.

I would deal all three plus Galvis and Senzel for Lindor at this point. The only prospects giving me pause at this point would be Stephenson, Greene and Lidolo. Garcia would be tough, given how his timeline fits well with Lindor's FA, but a non-egregious overpay may make sense at this point.

After typically sitting out of free agency, the Reds have committed $164 million this winter to 4 players.

Looks like Starling Marte may be about the leave the Reds division, and the Cubbies may be about to sign former Red Scooter Gennet.

Reds could pursue one of two trade tracks.

    1. Senzel (plus) in a deal for a starting shortstop such as Lindor, Story, or Seager.

    2. If not, Winker and/or Ervin to beef up pitching with relievers and/or bench with Brock Holt type super utility man.

Separately I wonder if Reds will include Iglesias and/or Galvis in trades that would reduce payroll. Obviously would have to replace them with other (cheaper) players. Could fit in trades Reds already pursuing.

Siri a big enough prospect that he has been DFA'd, then again Aquino was last offseason IIRC.

    Enjoy today's #Reds news.
    Appreciate work done.
    Spent $164M.
2 largest FA deals team history.
    2 OF, 2B, SP.
Done most of any team in division and more than most in MLB
    Largest payroll history.
Do you think adding $17M+ in a deal for Lindor this year is a reasonable ask?

Was looking over the remaining FA relievers on BA's list (not always up-to-date). Anybody like the idea of offering Jared Hughes a minor league deal w/invite and see if he might regain 2018 form?

Didn't keep that close of tabs on him. Was he showing signs of significant decline in 2019?

If you could include Galvis as well as Iglesias &/or Barnhart you wouldn't be taking on $17M though. Maybe deal Bauer back to the Tribe and widen the deal. Not sure they'd want him though.

    I found this comment curious:

Schwarber could compare favorably to Castellanos offensively.

Why would the Indians wants Gutierrez and AlfRod as part of this trade? They might take those two off waivers, but why would they ascribe trade value to them?

And the Galvis part is to help Reds shed some payroll. Again, Indians might take him but he provides little trade value in a deal for Lindor and Hand. And India is the Reds’ chosen “blocked” prospect.

Sounds like a deal negotiated by Reds with Reds for Reds. It’s Senzel plus four guys Reds would rather trade than keep.

I'm not really buying that comment. They are closer than I thought, but Schwarber really seemed to benefit from the juiced ball, while Castellanos power production was pretty consistent. It is also hard to judge just how much Comerica/terrible lineup suppressed Castellanos production.
