There seems to have been several available. No smoke recently, but plenty there for a while.

Sign Castellanos and trade for Lindor would make this the best Reds off-season in decades.

That well could be the best Red off-season ever.

Acquiring Moustakas, Castellanos, Lindor, and Miley would mean 13 bWAR.

If that's the expectation, I suspect you'll be sad when the season starts.

I'm fine with, say, Castellanos and Holt or perhaps a deal for, say, Chris Taylor.

(I don't think Lindor is available for anything less than a king's ransom. Ditto any of the top five guys Reds' fans have linked them to.)

In no way do I expect them to actually pull that off, but a boy can dream...

You’re right, Castellanos and a more under the radar SS acquisition would still be huge.

    I’m really hoping that happens.
Logical but is it doable? In order to trade for a SS, you have to have another team offering you a deal that makes sense. I don't think we're there yet

Very well put. Are we here to dream or live in the real world? If we're here to dream, let's dream that Tyler Stephenson and Jose Garcia tear it up in Spring Training, come to Cincinnati early in the year and compete against one another for Rookie of the Year.

I agree the HR Rate and BB rates present grounds for caution. 13.67 K/9, a 4 pitch mix, and never focusing fully as a reliever gets me excited. If he can reel in the walks and HRs to a modest level, we are talking about Ken Giles or Brad Hand type production out of the pen.

    @JonHeyman

Reds are considering trading Nick Senzel. Have heard his name is out there on market.
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

Rocks only bought out Story's arb years. Doubt that changes his availability much, actually makes him more valuable in a trade if you think about it.

Reds have had monster winter but still could tweak pen depth. They’ve added Nate Jones and Tyler Thornburg as relief options so far.

One more high leverage bullpen arm -- preferably a lefty -- would be a cherry on top of this offseason.

I was disappointed they weren't in on Brandon Kintzler the other day, thought he'd have been a good fit for Hughes' old role.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
