    I hope I'm wrong.

I think having a decent team around him helps him have a somewhat bounceback year

    .275 - .380 - . 445

But the ballpark is right.

It's hard to find a great comp, but perhaps Luke Voit or Shin Soo Choo.
The reason I asked is because he was a 1.6 bwar player last year with a .768 OPS. I would think that all things being equal, another 70 points would put him at 3 or so? Of course further declines in defense and base running would temper that. Thanks for the reply.

You messed up ....can’t up the OB% by 1 and Slug by 1 and be up 1 OPS

Love me some Joey Votto, but he's been in a sharp decline the past two years. Over the past three years his wRC+ have been 165, 130 and 101. He accrued more than 600 PA in all of those seasons.

I get it, but I think most on here are overly optimistic on 2020 Joey Votto. To me the real question is whether you can leave him near the top of the lineup as an on-base guy or if it's time to start the inevitable march down order.

    145 games.

    .295 .395 .480 .875 28 HR's. Leads the league in snarky interviews.

I wonder if he watches Letterkenny... never mind. Of course he does.

Has a monumental bounceback year before father time takes its lasting toll.

    .840 OPS

Two pie-in-the-faces. Three if we sign Puig.

Ya never know.. He might hit .410 and knock in 70 HR's, but I'll temper that by saying I'm not gonna gamble either testicle on such predictions.. All things being equal I'd rather die with both intact and still attached in their proper locations on my body..

A .350 OBP in the #2 hole would be slightly above average, and a .775 OPS would be about 50 points below league average (2019 numbers).

    Last year, Red #2 hitters went .275/ .362/ .460/ .822.

    Re: 2020 Votto Stat Predictions

Votto had a .276 .369 .432 .801 batting line in 121 starts out of the 2 hole. The last two months of the year he put up an .810 and .819 OPS after ditching choking up. Even more encouraging is in those two months his BAbip wasn't even that impressive(.292 and .311 which were 4th and 5th for him him on the season) and his BB/SO ratio was much more Votto like. I'd say based on those things it's entirely likely Votto can OPS .800+ next year. I'll predict .285 .375 .430 .805

    Re: 2020 Votto Stat Predictions

I’ve been wondering if he will get a bit of load management and limit ABs vs LHP which would reduce his ABs, HRs, RBIs, etc , but raise his AVG/OBP/OPS.
