What about this trade idea with Colorado?
Reds trade- Freddy Galvis, Nick Senzel, Jonathon India, Jose Gutierrez
Rockies trade- Trevor Story, Bryan Shaw(11 million remaining on contract) and Nico Decolati(A) OF #21 prospect

I've been saying for awhile now that Trevor Story was a worthy trade target. It'll probably take TySteve to get him though. And I doubt the Reds would have to give up Senzel.
This is virtually an even trade on that trade site:
CIN gets:
SS Story
COL gets:
3b India
CA Stephenson

This brings up a value question for the Reds. Who will be worth more to them over the next half decade, Senzel or Stephenson? I could really see an argument for either. I think Senzel will produce better overall numbers as long as he's healthy. Stephenson plays the premium position, but how much stock do you put in his latest season?
1,000 times out of 1,000 would I rather trade Stephenson for Story than Senzel for Lindor.
It’s not even remotely close for me.

Story had extreme home/road splits.
Look at these slugging percentages:
Home: .630
Away: .443
OPS:
Home: .998
Away: .756
Kinda terrifying
What would you say.....ya do here?
I thought that at first, too. But it should be said that if you put the Reds in the NL West and take out Rockies, the Reds home/away splits in general might be similar playing at GABP. Those NLW ballparks are pretty rough on players. And a .756 away split on OPS still isn’t bad for a SS, and still .75 higher than Galvis’s career numbers.
Also, he still hit 11HR in 71 games on the road in those ballparks. He has legit power.
I’d give up Winker for him. Maybe do the Stephenson trade that’s been floated on here.

Reds fan since 1968 win or lose.
How about this one:
Colorado gets Winker and Tyler Stephenson.
Reds get Story, Wade Davis, and $8.5 million.

Resulting in a position player roster of:
1b Votto
2b Moustakas
SS Story
3b Saurez
LF Senzel
CF Shogo
RF Aquino
CA Barnhart
OF Ervin
OF Jankowski
UT Farmer
IF Galvis
CA Casali
I like it. The cherry on top would be Castellanos instead of Aquino in RF but doubtful that would happen.

Something about Tyler Stephenson makes me want to keep him long term and if I'm completely wrong and he turns into a complete bust then well...I would have been wrong for the first time in the past 12 1/2 seconds..maybe 12 3/8ths of a second.. My second hand is hard to read..

I know the Rockies are starving for a catcher, but I suppose it is worth asking. Is Stephenson an attractive enough of a target that the Rockies would be interested in making a deal?
