Second favorite part of this offseason:
Cubs without Castellanos
Brewers without Moustakas
Cardinals without Ozuna
Pirates without Marte
Things are lining up so nicely!

Went to check if Wily Mo was still around. Noticed his 2001 Dayton season. Checked it because I wondered if he played with Salmone Peters. He did - in fact, five players on that squad hit over 75% of the team's homers. In order: Salmon Peters (28), Wily Mo (26), Randy Ruiz & Stephen Smitherman (20 each) and Mike Calitri (16) - 110 of 144 homers.

The Brewers expect an 8-week return to action for Luis Urias after surgery Tuesday to repair a fractured hamate bone in his left hand. "Questionable" for Opening Day, David Stearns says, but the team anticipates a full recovery and no lingering effects.

Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. -- Carl Sagan (Pale Blue Dot)
Thanks for that update. I couldn't imagine how he'd win it but this does settle the issue of whether clubs have wide discretion in when they bring youngsters up

If Bryant had to wait to get called up, what hope is there for anyone else? Of course this probably hasn't endeared him to Cubs management and vice versa. I'd say any chance of him signing there long term is slim and none. But, who knows? Maybe if they had called him up when they should have he wouldn't have stuck around anyway.
If the players don't like what happened to Bryant then they'll have to negotiate it at the next CBA. Don't expect the courts to bail you out
