Delino DeShields Jr. has tested positive for COVID-19, so he is still at home. He’s doing well, and needs to have a negative test before he joins the team in Cleveland.

4 more Phillies placed on injured list with no explanation of why.

Seems like enough of an explanation to know what's going on with those 4 guys."What I can tell you is they're on the injured list, and that's about all I can tell you," Girardi said Thursday. "MLB has given protocols on how to handle it. I don't have a timetable on those players. I can't really answer that question. As soon as I get an answer, I will give it to you."
Apparently one of those guys is the source of a mid-June birthday party that spread the virus. I won't say who it is but it's pretty easy to figure out.

MLB/PA announce first COVID-19 test results: Total number of positives 38, which is 1.2% of the 3,185 total samples tested.
31 of these 38 positives are players and 7 are staff members. 19 clubs had 1 or more individuals test positive during intake testing.
DocRed (07-03-2020)
For players only that percentage is about 1.8% (assuming 1750-1800 players)
For comparison 25 of 351 NBA players tested positive, which ia 7.1%. NBA players do skew about 3 years younger than MLB players though so this isn't necessarily a surprise (about 26 vs 29). MLS positivity rate was 2.7%.

Those are good numbers. Let's see what happens after 3 weeks of camps.
That's rough news for Braves fans.Mark Bowman

Brian Snitker said Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Touki Toussaint and Pete Kozma all tested positive for COVID-19. Freeman is still battling a fever. Smith and Toussaint have been asymptomatic. These are the only four Braves who are known to have tested positive.

Giancarlo Stanton just lined a ball off Masahiro Tanaka on the mound, appeared to go right off his head.
Scary scene as the training staff runs out on the field.
I read an update on the Tanaka situation and apparently he was down for a few minutes and was helped off the field with assistance. No news from the Yankees yet.
