Probably. I think this is a victory for STL but TB has fooled me before.

he may be filler, but for the record:

He put up a .305/.404/.496/.900 in 413 PA's in AA split between 2018 and 2019. There was no juiced ball there either year.

Texas League a pretty hitter happy league in general an his home park (Springfield) is among the happiest. It's a park where Daniel Descalso put up a .928 OPS.

I think he'll be a good piece as a 4th or 5th outfielder, but the Cards got a top pitching prospect for superfluous pieces.

Jose Arredondo is not that great.

So much hope for him when we acquired him in 2011.

But hearing Thom enunciate “Are-e-dohn-doe” every time was at least, erm, game thread fodder?

I may wait for the Cards to actually make those movers if you please.

    Nick Piecoro@nickpiecoro
The Diamondbacks and David Peralta are in agreement on a three-year, $22 million extension. He’ll earn $7M this year and $7.5M each of the next two years, according to a source. @BNightengale was first to report the news.
Seems like they got pretty good value here.

Good for him. He might be the hardest worker in mlb today. From May 2009 to July 2013 (as a 21 to 25 year old) he was relegated to INDY ball due to shoulder surgeries, within a year of ARI taking a shot in the dark on him he was in the bigs.

I can’t believe it was 2013 when Arredondo was last playing for the Reds. Felt like 2016-17 to me.

Interesting who's leading the charge here. Telling, perhaps, as to payroll limitations.

LA leads the way in the willingness to go to arbitration, with four guys (Baez, Taylor, Muncy, and Pederson). They may be willing to deal a couple of these guys for cheaper alternatives.

Houston (Diaz and Springer) is another big-market teams who is being aggressive with arbitration-level players. Boston (Benintendi and Eduardo Rodriguez), Colorado (Wolters and Story), Milwaukee (Hader and Suter), Philadelpha (Neris and Realmuto), and Arizona (Ahmed and Bradley) are too.

I'd be willing to give up, say, Winker, Kuhnel, and Galvis for Taylor, Baez, and Pederson, pay the extra $12M in arbitration, and roll with that squad.
