Better hope this doesn't screw up the budget!

Then again, I'm pretty sure they'll win this one 😄 (the Reds part is about halfway down)

I think the Reds will be ok. Dude sounds like a gold digger and a nut.

How do the Reds get sued? He doesn't seem to have ever been in our system? Baseball Reference has him only with the Yankees.

He’s saying the Reds kept him out of their open tryouts because he was too old, beyond the age range they use, according to a Newsweek story.

My son works in baseball ops with a team and last season one of his responsibilies was getting the info together for each lawsuit that came in each week (from former players). He said that it was one of the top expenses teams have (top 5 I know). I think he told me that his team got around 3 new lawsuits every week.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

It's wild how easy it is to sue someone and waste your own money and theirs.

I'm sure Jeter prevented 5 or 6 guys from being a MLB Short Stop, but none of them were this guy. And none of them were entitled to anything.
    WHEN DOES IT STOP!?!?

Did he sue the Reds for taking Mottola instead of Jeter?

It’s a sad story that he can’t let go of his dream and is messing up his life and maybe his mental state over it, but if he ever did make it to the majors, can you imagine how they’d write the story then? An epic tale of pluck and perseverance against the odds.

Brandon Larson over Lance Berkman and Drew Stubbs over Tim Lincecum should be addendums to any lawsuit.

In case anyone was still nervous about it, looks like the Reds dodged a bullet:

“As an intellect and former Olympic Athlete I like to think my talent is Alex Rodriguez at Shortstop from the Left Side or Cal Ripken Jr (sic) from the Left Side (Lefty Hitter),” Lassiter wrote to Reds chief legal counsel James A. Marx on Jan 1.
